Its core component is TDIPcre, which matches regular expression patterns against strings or locates any pattern in a string. In addition, DIPcre includes the TDIPcreEdit and TDIPcreComboBox controls, which validate user entry against a regular expression pattern very similar to a TMaskEdit. PCRE's Perl 5 syntax means full substring capturing, case sensitive and insensitive matching, greedy and non-greedy repetition quantifiers, backtracking, assertions and much more. PCRE itself is a C library of functions that implements regular expression pattern matching using the same syntax and semantics as Perl 5. It is the most powerfull regular expression library for Delphi, both freeware and commercial. Borland even choose PCRE to to ship with its C Builder. The DIPcre Delphi port utilizes *.obj files compiled from the original C sources and compiles straight into any application.
